The Marsalis family is known throughout every household in New Orleans. Musical talent struck this family, including Delfeayo Marsalis (son of Ellis Marsalis), who is known for his “technical excellence, inventive mind and frequent touches of humor,” according to Leonard Feather of the Los Angeles Times. Delfeayo Marsalis attended New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and Berkley College of Music, and he regularly tours the country wowing fans everywhere with his talent.
About the project
The illustrative mark for “Sweet Thunder” resembles a centuries-old graphic with the very ornate initial cap and serif typeface for the remaining letters. The top and bottom illustrations are inspired from antique wood cuts that give the mark a sense of depth.
